What is REACH?

Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals is the new legislation controlling chemicals,
which came into force in June 2007.

It places responsibility on industry to manage the risks chemicals pose to health and the environment and to provide
safety information to users.

REACH is a substance driven regulation with registration over a period of 11 years. Around 30,000 chemical substances
are expected to be pre registered between June and December 2008 by manufacturers and importers in the EU where more
than one tonne per year is sold.

It will have implications for all businesses. Knowledge and understanding is a must - No Registration, No Market.

The Norkem Group intends to pre-register and register all products offered.
