Norkem confirmed as exhibitor at Fi Europe >

Running for more than 35 years, Fi Europe plays a key role in the food and beverage supply chain, bringing together producers, buyers, R&D experts and production specialists to showcase and discuss the latest innovations, trends and services across the industry. And not forgetting the fantastic networking opportunities it provides.

Since 2020, Fi Europe has been co-run with Health Ingredients (Hi) Europe, moving from a biennial to an annual event. Originally launched as a digital exhibition because of COVID, this is the second year the Fi and Hi events will run side by side as in-person events in the same location, with a dedicated hall for health-focused ingredients and nutritional additives.

This year, there will also be an area of country pavilions showcasing produce from specific nations and regions, plus a plant-based zone, reflecting the growing importance of ingredients from non-animal sources across the food and beverage industry. Tying in with that, the theme across the entire show this year is sustainability.

Good for you, good for the planet

With these various strands in mind, members of our team from across Europe will be attending to promote our full food and drink ingredient range, with particular emphasis on our nutritional and plant-based products.

For example, we will be showcasing ProteVin, the groundbreaking vegan protein that we recently gained exclusive distribution rights for in the UK and Ireland. Manufactured by food tech company NextFerm, ProteVin is a vegan alternative to whey protein isolated from yeast.

Unlike plant-based proteins manufactured from legumes, ProteVin is both neutral in taste and has a complete nutritional profile, containing essential amino acids that are otherwise only found in animal proteins. This makes it an ideal vegan nutritional additive for a wide range of premium products where any kind of added tastes are undesirable or have to be masked.

Another product we will be promoting at Fi Europe is GOFOS, a prebiotic dietary fibre sourced from plants. The big selling point of GOFOS is that it is naturally sweet, which makes it ideal for adding fibre content - important for promoting gut health - to things like baked goods, snack and energy bars, cereals and chocolate without having to add extra sweeteners.

Finally, another recent addition to our range that we will be showcasing at Fi Europe are a variety of hemp-derived products - whole and hulled hemp seeds, hemp seed oil, hemp flour and hemp protein powder - sourced from a UK-based farming cooperative. Highly sustainable, hemp removes more carbon from the atmosphere per hectare than any other arable crop, and also grows robustly without the need for pesticides and herbicides.
