Material: Ammonium Bicarbonate (compound formula NH4(C(=O)OHO)), also known as bicarbonate of ammonia, ammonium hydrogen carbonate, hartshorn, or powdered baking ammonia, is the bicarbonate salt of ammonia. Ammonium Bicarbonate is used extensively in the food industry as a raising agent and leavening agent in baking. It has other uses, albeit to a lesser extent, in the fertiliser, wood treatment, plastic and rubber industries.
