Inulin >

Inulin is a group of naturally occurring polysaccharides produced by many forms of plants. On an industrial scale it is derived from chicory root fibre. Due to a continued global lack of chicory root harvest, inulin is often in short supply and prices have increased sharply over the past 18 months or so, compounded recently by ongoing climate conditions in Europe and South America where the majority of root is grown.

Norkem offers a solution to the inulin supply problem in GOFOS. Not only an alternative but a superior alternative. GOFOS is derived from sugar beet, much more plentifully available and as it is a short chain fructo-oligosaccharide it also has pre-biotic effects, something which inulin lacks. There are also other benefits to explore including being the most cost-effective option.

As with inulin GOFOS can be supplied in both liquid and powder form.
